A series of presentations given by ADI at this year’s Summit for Elephants were well received.

The remarkable conference organized by the Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) at their ARK2000 Sanctuary brought together representatives from animal protection groups, animal sanctuaries and from zoos in the USA and Mexico.

ADI President Jan Creamer and Vice President Tim Phillips gave three lively presentations and also took time to review progress on the lion enclosure that is being constructed at ARK2000 to provide a home for life for the lions ADI is rescuing in Bolivia.

Dramatically, the three day conference was staged inside one of the elephant pens inside one of the large elephant sheds at ARK2000, with delegates entering being watched by Nicholas a rescued bull elephant in the enclosure outside.

The conference was opened by Pat Derby(right) and Ed Stewart, founders of PAWS and ARK2000, who must be congratulated, not only for their remarkable campaigning and animal rescue activities but also for bringing together such an eclectic group of speakers.
