What we have achieved so far:

The land for the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary was secured in August 2018. By December we had built our first 12 lion habitats for the 27 lions rescued by ADI from circuses in Peru and Colombia; erected a high-security perimeter; planted trees, built platforms and more. Before Christmas, we passed our government inspection with flying colors and received our sanctuary permit. In February 2019 our permit was extended to take tigers.

Phase II of construction will make the sanctuary fully functioning ready for the lions and tigers we have rescued from circuses in Guatemala over the past months as we help enforce the country’s ban on animal acts. This will include:

  • Building a 650,000sqft Tiger Territory incorporating our large lake ($68,000/£52,500)
  • Building a 108,000sqft lion introduction habitat with multiple sections ($26,000/£20,000) - for those who have been kept apart
  • Three lion habitats for our 6 rescued lions from Guatemala ($57,000/£44,000)
  • Turning the barn into our Operations Center to include food storage and preparation ($92,000/£71,000)
  • Turning a family home into a public, multi-occupancy building, The Jean Warner Sprague Education Center ($40,000/£31,500)
  • The first year of running costs to look after all of our animals ($362,954/£283,000).
