Animal Defenders International (ADI) continues to educate the public, move forward with a lawsuit and is cooperating with multiple investigations into the abuse of elephants at Have Trunk Will Travel (HTWT), a Perris, California-based company that provides elephants for the entertainment industry.

Throughout the month of September the focus of the campaign has been on the Los Angeles County Fair where grassroots activists have handed out thousands of ADI’s newly designed leaflets, educating fair-goers and encouraging them to call on the Fair Association to end the elephant rides.

The Del Mar Times recently reported about the investigation at the San Diego County Fair, stating, “The board is extremely concerned with the allegations against Have Trunk Will Travel and promised to return to the table with a fully researched analysis on the issue.”

As you know, ADI has sued HTWT for fraud over misleading claims their elephants were trained with kindness. This comes after ADI released video footage of these same elephants being violently hit, ‘hooked’ and shocked with electric shocking devices by the owners and trainers at HTWT.

You can view the horrific video evidence here.

All summer long ADI has led a coalition of groups and citizen activists to stand up for these abused elephants used in the Hollywood movie industry and contracted to provide rides at the Santa Ana Zoo, the San Diego County Fair, and the Orange County Fair.
