Colima bans animal circus shows
March 2014: MPs in Colima have unanimously approved an amendment to their animal protection law which will ban animal circus shows, though still permit the public display of animals. The move makes Colima the third Mexican state to introduce such a ban, behind Morelos and Querétar. The initiative was launched by Mariano Trillo Quiroz who stated how animals are mistreated when trained for circus shows.

Circus elephant Benny stuck in Mexico
