Glendale says NO to animals at Ramos Bros. Circus

Posted: 25 November 2013. Updated: 25 November 2013

The city of Glendale, CA has told Ramos Bros. Circus they will not be allowed to have zebras, horses and other four-legged performers, except dogs and cats, when the circus returns to the city from Thursday, November 14, 2013 through Monday, December 2, 2013

Last year, a camel escaped from Ramos Bros. while the circus was in Glendale. ADI sent lobby packs to the Glendale City Council in response, encouraging them to ban the use of wild and exotic animals in traveling circuses.

Partially due to last yearís incident, city officials requested that all animals, except dogs and cats, be kept out of the show.

City spokesman Tom Lorenz said that Glendale officials are, however, open to reviewing the use of animals at the circus next year on a case-by-case basis.

Take Action

Send a polite email to the Glendale City Council at congratulating them on their decision and asking that they pass a ban on the use of wild animals in traveling circuses.
