Artists with a heart are backing a lion-themed exhibition at a forthcoming fundraising night with TV host Bob Barker and CSI’s Jorja Fox for Animal Defenders International (ADI) in the Hollywood Hills on October 13th.

Lion Art will be part of a gala evening celebrating the incredible airlift rescue of 29 circus lions from Bolivia to the USA – a story currently being made into a feature length documentary.

Lion Art will be curated by LA photographer Lelah Foster and will include some of Lelah’s stunning images from Operation Lion Ark. The multi media event will feature a range a media with a lion and wildlife theme including, oils, colored pencil, mixed media and some breath-taking photographs.

Guests at the gala at a private home in the Hollywood Hills will be able to enjoy the Lion Art Exhibition, vegan hors d’oeuvres, desserts, wine, spirits, art, music, speakers, an award ceremony, and a glimpse of scenes from the new movie, Lion Ark. The art on display will also be available to buy.

All proceeds from the evening will support the work of ADI – investigating and exposing animal suffering, securing animal protection laws and rescuing animals.

Guests include Bob Barker (philanthropist and award-winning Price is Right host), Jorja Fox (CSI’s Sarah Sidle), Carrie Ann Inaba (Dancing with the Stars), Elisabetta Canalis (Dancing with the Stars), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers, Ant Farm), James Reynolds (Days of Our Lives), Eric Roberts (Runaway Train, The Dark Knight), Dr. Jenn Berman (Host of VH1’s Couples Therapy), Lu Parker (KTLA News Reporter) Kate Linder (Young and the Restless), Nicholas Guest (voice of John Teller on Sons of Anarchy), Cas Anvar (Lost, upcoming Diana film) Alison Eastwood (Host of National Geographic’s Animal Intervention), Kerri Kasem (Co-host of Sixx Sense radio show with Nikki Sixx), Anne Marie Johnson (In the Heat of the Night), Elizabeth De Razzo (HBO’s Eastbound and Down), Alexandra Paul (Baywatch, host of Earth Talk Today), Lynne Marie Stewart (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Peewee’s Playhouse), Michelle Harris (Host/creator of ION TV’s Alive & Well), Tonya Kay (Bold Native), Corey Feldman (Stand by Me, The Lost Boys) and leading figures from the animal protection movement, including ADI founders Jan Creamer and Tim Phillips.

Lion Ark Night will be themed around last year’s huge ADI Operation Lion Ark rescue of 29 circus lions from Bolivia to the U.S., which is currently being made into a feature length documentary.

ADI is inviting local artists to submit animal art including wildlife but also domestic “little lions” where the art fits the theme.

Lelah Foster: “This will be a beautiful and inspiring exhibition and a chance to really get to know the stories behind the animals in the photographs and paintings. It will be a great night out that will help save many more animals. We are still accepting submissions and would love to hear from artists who would like to contribute their work.”

The event is ticket only, starting at $150, with $500 tickets to a VIP champagne reception. Tickets are available from http://www.adievents.com/
