Public support for circus ban gains momentum!

The UK government’s decision to hold a public consultation on the use of wild animals in circuses has been met with enthusiasm by ADI supporters and the general public alike.

Since the consultation commenced in December, ADI have been hitting the streets, engaging the general public and encouraging everyone to take part in the consultation – either online, or via post.

On the streets

ADI’s dedicated Street Team have joined in the recent festivities, hosting Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year themed awareness stalls across the UK capital. From Leicester Square to Elephant & Castle, ADI staff and volunteers collected responses from hundreds of shoppers and residents. The level of public support has been overwhelmingly encouraging – and we are very grateful for everyone who has taken part so far: Thank You.


The ADI Street Team will be heading back to the Elephant & Castle shopping centre this weekend (27th February, from 9am-6pm) to raise awareness of UK circus suffering, and will be asking shoppers to fill out our consultation postcards.

Thanks also go out to all the ADI supporters who have joined our Facebook group and distributed our images of circus suffering to their friends – you are helping spread the word about UK circus suffering, and the importance of pushing for a ban. Thank You.

It is extremely important to increase awareness of circus suffering, both at home and globally: ADI are therefore urging everyone to share our images of circus suffering with their friends, and invite everyone to join our consultation facebook group, and most importantly to fill in the online questionnaire. It has never been easier to make a difference for animals – and you can make that difference in minutes.
